The November 20 policy has a built-in exception. Use it.

For reservations booked on or after November 20, 2026, Airbnb generally bars hosts from collecting a guest’s phone number, email, or ID, or requiring a signed rental agreement (Airbnb Help Center article 4169). Hotels and Airbnb Luxe on the same platform can still do those things.

The exception is already in that article. When a local or state law, or a documented HOA or community rule, requires a guest register or a rental agreement, hosts may collect what that law or rule requires.

Hosts are independent local businesses. Airbnb is a marketplace. It is not the employer.
